Lilac Sky Schools in Partnership with Somerset LA

Lilac Sky Schools are delighted to be leading The Priory School from January 2010 onwards for the next 5 years.

Our aim is to make the school one that we can all be proud of. Over the coming weeks and months we intend to get to know the students at the school very well, to meet with all of their parents and to work pro actively with the staff to ensure The Priory goes from strength to strength.

We intend to do this by implementing our Lilac Sky Strategy. This will involve:

• Flooding the school with positivity – for students and staff.
• To introduce our policy of Positive discipline
• This involves rewarding and recognising good achievements and positive behaviour
• It also includes sanctions which follow a stepped process when things go wrong
• We believe in Universal entitlement to education and want to work towards zero exclusions from the school
• We intend to make sure the school environment is greatly improved – working with the local authority to completely refurbish and rebuild the majority of the school
• We also want to bring the school nearer to students homes by building satellites around Somerset
• We intend to focus relentlessly on Teaching and Learning to ensure students achieve the best results that they can for their futures
• We want to listen to the teachers students voice and views to include their views in how we improve their school
• We also want to make sure school is fun for everyone – we can only achieve the best by enjoying our work together

We are determined that The Priory School, working with the Local Authority and Lilac Sky Schools becomes the best that it can be, is no longer in Special Measures, is seen as a good school, with great results and outstanding outcome for its young people. But we can only do this working together.

We want to be the best that we can be. And the best is yet to come.

Lilac Sky Schools will be place 4 of its best educationalists in the school each week. And will also bring experts to the school throughout the year. At least another 2 behaviour specialists throughout the year.
